I had a a few responses to my freecycle want ad to follow thru on...
1st I stopped by a guy's office/workshop in early street who is a framer and he had some various smaller boxes. will be good for inner packaging of small things into bigger boxes.
Next to another gentleman's office who had 3 real moving boxes. 10 each of 3 sizes. He said eh just moved his MIL and was hoping to find someone who needed them.
Then I went down the street, to Borders and asked the gentleman at the Customer Service Desk if he had any empty boxes. He said "no" loud enough for the boss to hear him then whispered directions to me where they put them in the back behind the building and i probably got about 15-20 good book boxes from there.
So my brain said go look for a similar receptacle behind the other Borders who already told be no. But there was nothing there.
I asked at Staples and they had none... same at Office Depot. they all crush them immediately.
So I followed my plan to the Pizza Hut to ask for pizza boxes. I get 10. woo hoo! A+
Then I decide to give Domino's a try... They say "NO" but gave me 2 smallish pepperoni boxes. D... what a coincidence. I dont like their pizza anyway!
So on my way home i stop to pick some medicine up from yesterdays root canal and see a guy restocking shelves and hask him for his emties. i didnt get too many and they dont look too bid... but some is better than none.
Then I go home.
I put the pizza boxes in the studio and find a sharpie.
Here is how far the 10 pizza boxes got me...
10 Large pizza boxes filled with stamps, 1 layer deep in each. I will get some newspaper or something to layer in hte 1/2 in or so thats gapped from the lid to teh top of the stamps to keep them more in place for the move. They are all rubber side down on the clean cardboard surface.
I will definetly need about 20 more pizza boxes...
